Bergman Luggage: Carry Your Old Case In, Wheel Your New One Out

February 19, 2015

briggs-and-riley-a-case-for-giving-3Believe it or not, you can save up to $100 on a great piece of luggage when you turn in old wheeled luggage at Bergman Luggage.

I’m mentioning this deal partly because I have been working at the Northgate MallBergman Luggage store since just before the holidays and think it’s amazing not only because you’ll get a break on luggage that never goes on sale, but also because you’ll be helping out a local charity.

So, what’s the deal?

If you have an old useable wheeled suitcase that you hate or just want to get rid of, bring it into Bergman Luggage and you’ll get $50 off the purchase of a new wheeled Briggs and Riley bag. If your old bag is a Briggs and Riley bag, you’ll get $100 off your purchase. And your old bag will go to the Ronald McDonald House.

I admit, Briggs bags aren’t cheap. They start at around $419 (or $319 if you get the $100 discount), but they’ve got a warranty like no other. They are so well built that the company has an unconditional warranty. If something goes wrong with your bag, they will repair or replace it free as long as you own the bag. No questions asked. It doesn’t matter if you run over the bag with your car or Spirit Airlines baggage handlers decided to take their frustrations out on your luggage. It’s covered.

Sure, cheaper bags start at around $119, but most only cover manufacturer problems like poor workmanship and only for about a year or so. And they aren’t built to last. These are.

And after what I just saw Alaska Airlines do to a bag last week, it never hurts to have a bit of added insurance. I’m not picking on Alaska. I love Alaska Air and fly the airline every time I get a chance. I’m just saying that things sometimes have a way of happening when you least expect them.

One last note: My employer didn’t ask me to post about this. I’ve just done so because I think it’s a great deal. If you do happen to take advantage of it, though, I’d love it if you mentioned that I (David Volk) referred you because I do get credit for it and every little bit helps.

Or stop in and see me.
