Get a Free Ride to Seatac Airport 12/23-24 Only

December 23, 2013

uber_alaskaair_SEA_airport_graphics_700x300_r2Alaska Airlines and ride service Uber are combining forces today and tomorrow to offer free rides to Seattle Tacoma International Airport to anyone who lives south of Mercer Street in Seattle today and tomorrow.

If you live north of Mercer or aren’t flying Alaska Airlines, don’t tune out just yet, because I’ve got more good news.

First, you don’t have to be flying on Alaska to get the free ride.

Second, if you live north of Mercer or outside the specified area, you’ll be able to deduct $50 from the cost of your fare. So, if you live in Bellevue, for example, a $65 fare would be only $15. Or you could hop a bus or have a friend drive you to the downtown flat-rate taxi zone and get the ride free. How cool is that?

There is some fine print, of course: You have to have the Uber app on your Smart phone (so, you have to have a smart phone), the promotion does not apply to people seeking rides from the airport and the offer is only good “while supplies last.” Presumably, that means as long as there are cars available and the drivers aren’t too exhausted.

Thanks to KIRO and the Seattle Times Today File.
