See Aquarium and Other Museums Free

November 18, 2013

UUnknown-6nder normal circumstances, the CB would prefer to keep this deal a surprise that only people who bought the latest edition of “The Cheap Bastard’s Guide to Seattle” would know about, but he was so excited about a recent development that he couldn’t resist.

In case you didn’t know it, people who hold cards for either the King County or Seattle Public Library can get free museum passes to a number of museums. In the case of King County, for example, you can get passes to places like Kidsquest and the Bellevue Arts Museum. When the CB wrote the book, you could also get Seattle Library passes to places like the Seattle Art Museum and The EMP, but at a reading last weekend he found out that the library just added The Seattle Aquarium.

Think about that. If you plan far enough ahead, you can get a pass that’s good for two adults and two kids for free giving you a total savings of $73.80.

In order to qualify, you have to have a library card and a Personal Identification Number. To get a pass, all you have to do is go to the Museum Pass page, select the museum you want to visit and then find an available date. At present, all of the tickets for the the Aquarium and EMP are gone through December 18th, but it pays to keep checking back.
