A Deal You Might Have Missed–8 Free Rides on Metro

July 25, 2013

images-3Did you know that when you renew your car license tabs, you can get eight free tickets to ride Metro? And the weird thing is, King County Metro has already told you this and you may have completely missed it.

How?

Whenever you send in a check to get your new tabs, the Department of Licensing sends you back the tabs, your new registration and a little yellow slip of paper with the words “Metro Transit Incentives Program Order Form.” If you resist the temptation to recycle what seems like pointless paper added to the envelope, you could either order 8 free tickets to ride on regular Metro service or you could donate the value of 8 free ride tickets to King County’s Human Services Ticket Program.

Any King County household that registers at least one vehicle per year is eligible for the program, which began in June 2012 and will end in May 2014.

About the only catch is that the tickets expire 90 to 120 days after you receive them.

That means for up to four months you’ll have more than 200 routes, thousands of bus stops, 130 park and ride lots and 13 transit centers available to meet your needs for free.

Pretty cool, huh?

If you did not receive a form with your tabs, you may download and print a copy here in English or Spanish, fill it out, and then mail it to this address. Date: Thu, 25 Jul 2013 17:04:59 +0000 To: jlen98144@msn.com
