Sculpture Park Events Fun For Whole Family

June 19, 2013

The Cheap Bastard knew he wouldn’t have much time for blogging last week because it was the last week of school for both of his kids and it seemed like both schools were squeezing in every event they could at the last minute. One of the ways he made it through last week was by promising himself that he would have more time this week.

Silly Bastard.

What was he thinking?

If he can just make it to July, though, there will be plenty of cool free stuff going at the Olympic Sculpture Park for the rest of the summer.

For starters, there’s Thursdays At the Park, from 6 to 8 p.m. every…you guessed it, Thursday evening. The evenings feature craft projects, drawing and a live music on the lawn. You can either buy food from the rotating selection of food trucks that will there every week (from 5:30 to 8 p.m.) or you can save money and bring your own. The event will also feature Art Hit Tours with curators, artists and more.

There will also be drawing on Thursdays from 5:30 to 8 p.m. and tours at 6:30 p.m. Thursdays and noon and 1 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

For the more actively inclined, there will also be yoga from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturdays (with a special session for families on Aug. 3), Zumba from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturdays (rain or shine). Did we mention the art activities from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays?

It’s all rounded out with a Salmon Return Festival on Saturday, Sept. 7th.
