Best Damn Happy Hour Starts Tonight, Chocolate Happy Hour and BK Update

February 21, 2013

images-3It’s finally here! The Armory at the Seattle Center launches its first edition of the monthly Best Damn Happy Hour tonight with a wide range of fun and deals. Entry is free and if you just want to hang out, have fun, play the giant Jenga game or mini golf and listen to tunes spun by DJ Alex from KEXP, you won’t have to pay a thing.

The food prices aren’t bad, either. Specials under $5 include:
Cheese Wazzle $5 at Bean Sprouts Cafe
Trio of Sliders $5 at Bigfood BBQ
Mini 6″ Mod pizza $3.88
All Savory Pies $4.95 at Pie
Individual Cheesecakes $4 at the Confectional.

For more info on food and drink prices, see the menu. The Best Damn Happy Hour runs from 5 to 8 pm the third Thursday of every month. Thanks to Queen Anne View for the reminder.

Head Uphill For Chocolate–Looking for something to round out your happy hour meal? Chocolopolis has its regular chocolate happy hour from 5 to 9 pm. Tonight’s focus will be the Amano Chocolates.

Fix Your Pet, For Less–The Cheap Bastard doesn’t know why people say they’re getting their pet “fixed” when they go to have it spay or neutered. It seems to him that everything was working just fine in the first place. Regardless, the Seattle Animal Shelter is observing World Spay Day by offering discounted neutering and spay surgeries for dogs and cats from Feb. 22 to March 1. It will be $40 for the procedure for cats and kittens and $55 to $100 for dogs and puppies. There will also be a discount for surgeries on rabbits. Other area animal shelters are also participating in the campaign. Check before you go. Thanks to MyBallard.

Finally, an update on the BK 25 cent coffee deal. The CB stopped at his neighborhood BK today to get an iced Mocha flavored coffee and found the price had been pushed up to 60 cents. He was a bit shocked because he’d gotten flavored coffee on Tuesday for 25 cents. Turned out that the local BK wasn’t aware that the deal did not include flavored coffees. They corrected the situation yesterday. Still, 60 cents for a small iced mocha isn’t a bad deal.
