Attend Grand Opening of Seattle History Museum Free

December 20, 2012

carousel2The Cheap Bastard decided not to use the Museum of History and Industry in the headline because it’s just too darned long. Regardless, the Museum of History and Industry has completed its move to South Lake Union and will be celebrating with a big grand opening weekend Dec. 29th and if you act fast, you can be one of the first in your neighborhood to see it…for free. ($14 value, $12 military, seniors and students, kids under 14 free).

All you have to do is go to the MOHAI Web site and reserve a ticket for the time you’d like to visit. The opening goes from noon to 8 pm on Saturday, Dec. 29th and time slots from 10 am to noon, and the 1 pm and 2 pm slots are already full.

Of course, you can always reserve a ticket for Sunday, but you’ll have to pay full price to get in.

If the Cheap Bastard goes, he’d take his whole family including his relative who just happens to be in the military, making it a $26 value.

Savings to date: 22,735.25
$1,264.75 left.

    Hey Cheap Bastard –

Just an update to the MOHAI opening, the Royal Argosy (Argosy’s dinner ship) will be dockside in South Lake Union during the opening festivities. (Someone from MOHAI will be aboard ship to sell membership to MOHAI for those who are interested.)

    But here’s the free bit:

For guests who come aboard the Royal Argosy and purchase something to eat or drink, they will receive a pass to come back in the summer for our Seattle Lakes Cruise Tour- a $32 value. WOW
