Sounds Like Lunch: Free Fritters and $2 Subs

December 2, 2012

Unknown-3The Cheap Bastard learned an important lesson this weekend. If you don’t understand Texas Hold ’em, you probably shouldn’t play. On the plus side, the losses he chalked up all went to charity and it allowed him to escape the house with his hearing intact. Barely. His daughter may only be 5…excuse me, 5 and a half…but boy does she have a set of lungs on her when she doesn’t want to go to bed. Yeesh.

And whatever you do, don’t call her one of the Bastard children or I’m sure she’ll yell at you just as loudly.

Here are Monday’s deals on Sunday night–

Free Fritters From the Alexis–In case you missed it at the bottom of Thursday’s round-up, today is the day that the chef at the Library Bistro is observing National Fritter Day by giving out free fritters from noon to 1 today (Monday, Dec. 3) at the corner of First and Madison. The CB doesn’t know what kind of fritters, but again, who cares when they’re free? He’s heard a rumor that it’s the chef’s famous apple fritters, but, to be fair, he didn’t know the fritters were famous. Thanks Seattle Met’s Nosh Pit Blog.

Subway Says Thanks With $2 Subs–Yep, you saw it right. Participating Subway stores are celebrating Customer Appreciation Month by offering the 6″ Cold Cut Combo or Meatball Marinara subs for $2 all month long. The Western Egg and Cheese Sub is also $5 all month long.

Bon Appetit.

Savings to date: $20,047.20
