Eva Restaurant: $40 Worth of Food for $20

July 23, 2012

The Cheap Bastard has been hearing how nice Eva Restaurant is for he doesn’t know how long. It’s part of the hazard of being a travel writer. The offsetting hazard of being a parent is that you don’t actually get to experience such places for yourself because you either can’t get away or you can’t afford them.

This deal may not help improve the amount of time he has or his baby sitting situation, but Bloomspot’s current deal will possibly help him afford the restaurant. Spend $20 and get a voucher for $40 for food AND A DRINK! Now, the Cheap Bastard isn’t much of a drinker, but this is one of the few times he’s ever seen an offer that includes a drink.

Looking at the menu, I see that would just about cover the cost of an appetizer of Merv’s Yakima Sweet Corn Soup with Fresh Fenugreek Leaves and Coconut Milk ($), a main course of Chermoula Marinated Ling Cod with Harissa Couscous, Tomato Tagine, Oil Cured Olives, and Botany Bay Spinach ($22) and a glass of Tawny Port ($6) for just under $40 before tax and tip. As long as I don’t get dessert or any other beverage…all for just $20. Not too shabby.

The CB is being very specific here because, well, he knows he and his wife (whatever you do, don’t call her Mrs. Bastard) won’t actually have time to go do this, but a guy can dream, can’t he? And if you’re going to dream, you might as well be specific.

Savings to date: $10,283.76.
