Another Thing I Learned: The Baker States

July 8, 2012

This was a new one for the Cheap Bastard. Apparently, some teachers help their students remember part of their US geography by referring to some of the states in the country’s mid-section as The Baker States or The Man in the Middle.

As the map shows, Louisiana is the feet or boots, Arkansas and Missouri make up the paunchy body, Iowa is the face and Minnesota is the chef’s hat.

Who knew?

Well, probably everyone but the Cheap Bastard.
