Starbucks Says Thanks With Free Film Fest Tix

May 18, 2012

It’s that time of year again. Summer is around the corner, the chilly-weather hot-coffee-buying season has just ended and Seattle’s small hometown coffee chain, Starbucks, is feeling so appreciative that it wants to say thanks to Seattleites by giving them free passes to cool stuff every Friday afternoon for the next month.

Starting at 3 pm today (5/18), participating Seattle area Starbucks stores will be giving out one free admission ticket to select screenings at the Seattle International Film Festival. You can find out which films are eligible here.

In coming weeks, Starbucks will pass out free admissions to the Seattle Art Museum, a screening of Sister Act at the Paramount and a free admission to the Woodland Park Zoo.

No purchase necessary, but supplies are limited. So you’ll want to get there early.

Savings to Date: $6,795.

There’s always next week. Or you could stop in to your favorite Sbux tomorrow and see if they still have them. Don’t bother with U Village, though. Too much foot traffic.

Do you know what films these are eligible for? Starbucks has a list but they are all shorts and don’t seem to appear anywhere on the SIFF site… I literally can’t find anything on what I can see! Help please!

I checked with the SIFF Box Office and the person who answered the phone told me the best way to find the list is to go to the Siff homepage, which I believe is siff.net, go to the search menu (look for the magnifying glass on the right side of the screen) and type in the word Starbucks vouchers. I typed Starbucks and got it pretty quickly. It was one of the first items on the list. I hope this helps.
